Final Update
The $6,198,953 Métis Fund was established under the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement (IRSSA) and was invested with the advice and guidance of prudent investment advisors. It has been disbursed to Métis beneficiaries over the past ten (10) years with care, skill, and diligence, in compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the IRSSA.
Through investment income, the Métis Fund grew and $7,128,788 was disbursed in grants to Métis students, organizations, and Survivors. As of 2024-2025, the FG Foundation has fully met its obligations, and all funds have been disbursed to Métis Beneficiaries to support education and programs that promote healing, reconciliation, culture, and learning.
What Does This Mean for Métis Applicants?
The Métis Fund is now fully expended, and the FG Foundation will no longer be accepting applications from Métis Beneficiaries. For other funding opportunities, we encourage applicants to visit the Additional Supports & Resources page on our website, which lists a range of programs and supports available through other organizations.
